Living Energies LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Sunlight is Life mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information: Email address and password when you create an account.
• Preferences: Skin type, location preferences, and notification settings you configure in the app.

Information Collected Automatically

• Location data: With your permission, we access your device’s location to calculate sun times, UV index, and solar signals for your area. Location data is used in real time and is not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to deliver the service.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and debugging purposes.
• Camera data: With your permission, the app uses your device camera solely to estimate ambient light levels. Images are processed on-device and are never transmitted or stored.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect health or medical data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
• We do not use tracking pixels, third-party analytics, or advertising SDKs.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide personalized sun times, UV forecasts, and bio-signal calculations based on your location.
• To send you sun event notifications that you have opted into.
• To authenticate your account and sync your preferences across devices.
• To improve the Service through aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Open-Meteo: Weather and UV forecast data. Your approximate location (latitude/longitude) is sent to retrieve forecasts. See Open-Meteo’s terms.
• Mapbox: Location search and reverse geocoding. See Mapbox’s privacy policy.
• Expo / EAS: App build and update delivery. See Expo’s privacy policy.

Data Storage and Security

Account data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Preferences and settings are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our servers when you are signed in. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

Your Choices

• Location: You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. The app will fall back to a default location.
• Notifications: You can disable all notifications in your device settings or within the app.
• Account deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at peter@livingenergiesllc.com.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app or on our website with a revised “Last updated” date.
